Emily comes from Birmingham. She studied English Language and Literature at St Hilda’s College, Oxford, but spent far too much of her time there painting. Her work has appeared in numerous prestigious exhibitions, including the Singer and Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition and the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery. In 2006, she became the youngest person ever to be elected a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA)
In 2007 she took part in an episode of the television programme Star Portraits with Rolf Harris with Dame Kelly Holmes. The series was on BBC 1 in April 2007.
