Maxine Hart

Profile

Born in 1971 on the Wirral following an early interest in art, Maxine did her foundation studies at Chester Art College and then a BA Honours degree in Fine Art at University of Central England, Birmingham in 1991, specialising in painting.

Following her degree she worked as a mural artist; artist in residence in cheshire schools and gallery officer whilst continuing with various art commissions. She has work in many private collections in Europe and America.

Her work is inspired by her surrounding landscapes and her love of Cornwall. The use of colour, texture and expressive marks are important in capturing the dramatic landscapes and seascapes that she visits. Maxine uses sweeping lines, gestures and automatic mark making to recreate the movement and visual composition of the landscape.

Maxine has exhibited her work throughout the North West and in London, Chester, Bristol and Bath with the Bridgegate Gallery.
