Profile: Penelope Timmis

Penelope studied Art at the Froebel Institute in London but only returned to painting in 2000 having spent the intervening years dairy farming and raising a family.
She works from her farmhouse studio in the Shropshire countryside and takes her inspiration from her surroundings, using acrylic, watercolour, gouache and collage to create her paintings. Her work is packed with colour and emotion capturing rolling landscapes, windswept seascapes and farmyard mayhem with the same free flowing style. Her individual style and talent has been recognised in her recent success winning the RBSA open competition in 2008 and she became an Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (ARBSA) in 2010.
